We were thrilled to see that Idée Fixe Brut Rosé was included in The Australian’s WISH Magazine, in a feature championing WA sparkling by Angus Hughson.
“Another very experienced winery also investing significantly in Western Australian sparkling is Vasse Felix, with its Idée Fixe offering. Vasse Felix has unsurprisingly moved away from its base in Margaret River’s Wilyabrup to the cooler Karridale zone and is also in the process of opening a new, picturesque cellar door and restaurant that is close to completion alongside the on-site winery. Vasse Felix has owned its Karidale blocks since 2012, which has proven serendipitous for Idée Fixe on two counts: the property has been partially planted with Champagne clones, and has an unusual soil for the region littered with shattered quartz, which appears to give the wines extra verve and impact. Currently there are two exceptional wines – a fine and detailed Premier Brut Blanc de Blancs and a Brut Rosé, with undoubtedly more to come.”
