GATHER – A Floral Exhibition at State Buildings

Idée Fixe was delighted to partner with Fox & Rabbit and the State Buildings in Perth for the launch event of GATHER – A Floral Exhibition on Sunday 24 September. At the exclusive first preview of the exhibition, guests had the opportunity to meet the exhibiting artists and learn about the inspiration behind their artworks, amongst fellow art and flower enthusiasts.
This year’s GATHER exhibition was a showcase of floral art in an explosive celebration centred around the theme “The Elements”. With each unique piece telling a story of striking blooms, delicate petals, and the brilliance of creative imagination – as 10 leading floral designers across Western Australia built a series of large-scale floral artworks in the heritage centre of Perth within the State Building’s Postal Hall.
Gather was a full sensory experience from a spectacular undertaking of cut flower design. Visitors were invited to see, smell, capture, and marvel at the large, sculptural artworks, featuring an abundance of cut spring blooms, designed with sustainable floristry practices in mind. The Post Restaurant was converted into the “Kings Park Flower Cave”, an oasis for Australian native flora.
In addition to the launch event, a series of unforgettable floral experiences, artist talks, workshops and masterclasses were brought to life as GATHER took over the Postal Hall.
